In the beginning...

Welcome to my musical odyssey. This is a a long one which started in 1982 when I first heard of a French musician called Jean Michel Jarre. I was a fan from day one and in particular of his early albums, Oxygene, Equinoxe, Magnetic Fields & the China Concerts, all classic Jarre.

Now I' a bit older, I have a more of a disposable income and have started to buy my own synthesizers which at the moment, I'm only messing about with. Back in late March 2008, I had the chance to go see Jean Michel on his Oxygene Live in your living room tour in Manchester. There I was on the front row, there he was, at times no more than 15 feet away performing his masterpiece live. Twenty six years I had waited for that moment and I wasn't disappointed!

I have an absolute and total fascination for his music, it touches something deep inside, it's a part of me, whatever it is I can't explain it.

So now I'm on my own musical journey, to learn to read music, play the piano and hopefully perform my own music before I get too old. I have left things far too late but let's see what perseverance brings over the next few years. Hopefully I might make a few friends along the way on a similar musical journey :)

Here's a very basic rendition

on my latest synth, the Korg Radias:

As is often the case, I get distracted from what I'm supposed to be doing with little side projects like this.
